Drummond Ltd. continues to support the community in the town of Boquerón in terms of handling farm animals such as pigs and chickens, by guiding the business ideas that its residents have created in a more clear and concise manner. Drummond Ltd. enlisted the support of its contractor, Cosecharte, who was in charge of teaching about animal health, production and marketing topics to implement.

Drummond Ltd. is encouraging farm animal businesses in this area of Cesar in order to increase the development of trade and the economy, and takes into account the potential that exists for raising pigs and chickens in the town of Boquerón.

Veterinarian Luz Estella Cortez reviewed each barn and pig farm owned by the people who participated in the project prior to the training, which took place in the Boquerón Educational Center. After the training, she was able to give each member of the project recommendations they would need for their animals to be in optimal conditions for sale, which would further allow their business to thrive by earning satisfied customers.

This project is extremely important to the community, because it will allow them to move forward educated by reliable, expert sources, such as the employees of Cosecharte.

“Drummond has given them a grain of sand. We expect, based on what they have been given, which is excellent, they will be able to make it last. The purpose of our visit is to guide them so they can take ownership and appreciate what they’re being given,” said Luz Estella Cortez, veterinarian and zoo technician.

The attendees participated actively in the talk and were able to have questions answered regarding the appropriate procedures to take, in the event that their animals show signs of any issue that could affect their stability and production.

Project members were grateful for the support that Drummond Ltd. has given them and the assistance they received from the experts from Cosecharte, since this will allow them to have greater ownership and vision in managing their businesses.

“Drummond’s trainings are very good. We are learning more with the veterinarians, since they can give us a lot more knowledge about what we are undertaking,” said Baltazar Reales, a member of ASPROSEMBO and pork business entrepreneur.
