With the aim of improving mobility, traffic flow, and road safety in the communities,
Drummond Ltd., along with the Municipality of El Copey, developed the project “Community Collaboration Agreement for the Improvement of the Road Network in the Municipality of El Copey.”
As a result of this partnership, more than 1,118 linear meters of roads were improved in the township of Chimila and the neighborhoods of Las Flores, Porvenir, Piedras Azules, and Caracolito. These improvements contribute to better mobility and traffic flow, facilitating the movement of pedestrians, motorcyclists, and drivers, thus enhancing road
safety for the beneficiary communities.
“At Drummond, we believe in the importance of joining forces with authorities and communities to promote initiatives that contribute to the development of the region. With this project, we are contributing to the improvement of the roads in El Copey and, consequently, to creating better mobility and road safety conditions for the communities that will benefit,” commented Javier Galeano Guzmán, Community and Government

For the execution of the works, Drummond contributed the purchase and delivery of construction materials, totaling 7,126 bags of cement and 1,592 reinforcement bars. The Municipality of El Copey was responsible for hiring the labor, supplying aggregate equipment, tools, and other inputs necessary for the project’s development.
“With the development of this project, we are improving mobility, decongesting areas
that are critical due to high traffic flow, and connecting several sectors of our
municipality,” stated Assad Raish Gámez, mayor of El Copey, Cesar.
In addition to improving road infrastructure, this initiative seeks to generate positive
impacts on road safety and the quality of life of the beneficiary communities by providing
them with roads in better condition for their daily activities.
Rafael Orozco Palmera, president of the El Copey Community Action Board, spoke about the benefits of the project: “This work has a significant impact because it also contributes to disease prevention. This road, being unpaved, was very dusty and full of potholes.
