Academic training and the strengthening of regional journalism remain the core objectives of the Communications Scholarship—an initiative by Drummond Ltd. and the Valledupar Journalists’ Circle (CPV). In its tenth edition, the program has selected Limedes Molina Urrego as its recipient, with the aim of fostering the professional growth of
journalists in the department.
The selection was the result of a process that evaluated proposals submitted by participants, taking into account their professional background, experience, and the quality of their work. The jury consisted of Pablo Urrutia, Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications at Drummond Ltd.; Jorge Rosado, an executive at the Valledupar
Journalists’ Circle (CPV); and Leovedis Elías Martínez Durán, a lawyer, legal specialist, holder of a doctorate in Law, and former magistrate.
Through this recognition, Limedes Molina Urrego will have the opportunity to pursue a specialization—part of an initiative that promotes access to new educational opportunities and contributes to developing the skills of those working in journalism in the Cesar department.
“I can’t believe it! This was my second attempt, and to be honest, seeing the quality of the other finalists who qualified alongside me, I thought I would have to keep waiting. All honor and glory go to God. Thank you to Drummond and the CPV. I will honor the trust placed in me,” said Limedes Molina upon learning he was the new recipient of the Drummond Ltd. Communications Scholarship.
To participate in the selection process, applicants had to meet specific program requirements, including a connection to the department of Cesar, professional experience in journalism, a solid work history, and a high evaluation of the projects submitted.
With this latest edition, ten journalists have now benefited from the Communications Scholarship, including Carlos Jiménez Saucedo, Humberto Carrillo Mindiola, Arnold Murillo Rincón, Aquiles Hernández Saurith, Daniela Cárdenas Seoanes, Wendy Peralta Cano, Miguel Alguero Montaño, Ludy Ovalle Jácome, and Liliana Vanegas Romero.
Through this initiative, beneficiaries have had the opportunity to strengthen their professional profile and expand their knowledge in the field of communications.
