With the third emergency brigade meeting, Drummond Ltd. strengthens its safety culture

In order to continue strengthening its preparedness and response to risk situations in its operations, Drummond Ltd. held the third emergency brigade meeting, which brought together more than 100 participants, including direct employees and contractors.

“In this third version, we further strengthened integration and joint learning among brigade members, who put their knowledge into practice in different simulation scenarios. These spaces allow Drummond’s teams, as well as those of our allied contractors, to continue to improve their ability to act efficiently in the event of any incident,” said Nelson Diaz Mora, senior industrial safety supervisor at Drummond Ltd.

During the day, participants rotated through ten training stations designed to reinforce skills in hose and water jet maneuvers, the use of specialized suits, vehicle extrication and extraction techniques, first aid, vital signs and CPR, handling of hazardous materials, hemorrhage control, height rescue, Incident Command System, transfer of injured persons, search and rescue in confined spaces, and handling of portable fire extinguishers.

The meeting was organized by Drummond Ltd.’s Industrial Safety Department, with the support of ARL Seguros Bolívar, and the technical support of IRO Fire School Colombia, Sigpe, Vertical, Extinseg and Varichem de Colombia. Brigade members from allied contractors such as AON, Aseres, CHM Minería, Consorcio Día, Construvías de Colombia, Cooperativa de Trabajadores del Hatillo, Cosecharte, Ethos Energy de Colombia, Giraldo Ramírez Comercializadora, INDUMIL, Insulectri, Interaseo, JCM, Kal Tire, Komatsu, Magnex Group, Newrest, Proairex, Relianz, Sevin, Tecno Fuego, Transporte Montejo and Villa Loly also participated.

“It was an excellent and a great learning experience, which we will be able to apply not only in our jobs, but also in our homes in case of any emergency that may arise,” said Lidio Prada Prada, participating brigade member and contract manager of Cosecharte SAS.

With this third meeting, Drummond reaffirms its commitment to safety, prevention and the construction of a culture of protection, preparedness and effective response for the benefit of its workers and strategic allies.
