In order to continue contributing to the social, cultural and educational development of the communities in its area of influence, Drummond Ltd., in collaboration with the municipal mayor’s office, delivered the renovated House of Culture in La Palmita, a small town in the municipality of La Jagua de Ibirico, Cesar.
This project represents a space for reunion, creation and strengthening of local identity. Where once stood a deteriorated structure, today a place full of life, dreams and opportunities for all the inhabitants is opening up.
The intervention, which exceeded 720 million pesos, included the demolition of the old infrastructure and the construction of a modern building, consisting of two multifunctional rooms, two offices, a reception room, a kiosk with a stage for cultural presentations, a cafeteria and the improvement of the sanitary facilities.
“This work for us is of great importance because, through the ages, culture has been the central axis for the formation of children, young people and adults. It is of great importance because we did not have this space for cultural activities to improve their environment and quality of life,” said Idelso Cadena Meneses, cultural manager of the municipality of La Jagua de Ibirico, Cesar.
In addition, furniture and musical instruments were delivered, which will enrich the educational and artistic processes that take place in this space.Children, youth and adults will now have more tools to participate in workshops, classes and activities that promote culture, a sense of belonging and pride in their roots.

With this delivery, we reaffirm our commitment to the integral wellbeing of the communities,” said Yilda Tatiana Pineda García, senior supervisor of community relations and governance at Drummond Ltd.
In this way, Drummond Ltd. once again reaffirms its commitment to promoting initiatives that promote the integral growth of the communities, recognizing culture as an engine of transformation, identity and tradition.
