Drummond Ltd. commemorates three decades of operation at the Pribbenow mine, celebrating a path of transformation that has positively marked the lives of thousands of people in the territory. Since the beginning of its operations in February of 1995, the company has worked with commitment, integrity and respect for its environment, consolidating itself as a benchmark for responsible and sustainable mining in Colombia.
During these 30 years, the Pribbenow mine has been more than a mining production center: it has been an engine of well-being for its employees, their families and neighboring communities. Through concrete and sustainable actions, Drummond Ltd. has promoted social, environmental, and institutional growth in the region.
“I joined the company in 1987 when the project was just an idea, and throughout these more than 30 years I have seen this project grow and be a source of positive transformation for the region and for the country, generating employment and providing resources for thousands of families who today are proudly part of this great extended ‘Drummond family’,” says José Miguel Linares, president of Drummond Ltd.
“I have had the privilege of experiencing the evolution of Drummond Ltd. in Colombia. This company has not only generated employment and opportunities, it has also sown hope, progress and a sense of belonging in many communities in the department of Cesar,” said Juan Eduardo Aguilar Zapata, manager of licenses and permits, who has accompanied the operation since its first steps.
Drummond Ltd.’s commitment to the territory is reflected in each project it develops: initiatives that strengthen education, access to health, local entrepreneurship, and social infrastructure; all in coordination with community and institutional actors.
The company has also led environmental processes that demonstrate that mining done well is possible. With an operating model aligned with international standards, Drummond has prioritized the restoration of intervened areas and the development of
responsible practices that put life, well-being and sustainability at the center.
On the 30th anniversary of the Pribbenow mine, Drummond Ltd. ratifies its commitment to continue working responsibly, generating value and being an ally of regional and national development.
