With the objective of continuing to improve the urban infrastructure of the municipality of Fundación, Magdalena, and thanks to the strategic alliance between Drummond Ltd. and the Municipal Administration, the official delivery of the paving works in the Faustino Mojica community, near the railroad, took place.
This intervention included the construction of 3,250 square meters of pavement and 1,290 linear meters of curbing, which will significantly improve mobility, access and safety conditions in this residential area of the municipality.
The works have a direct impact on more than 690 inhabitants, who for years have faced multiple difficulties associated with the poor condition of the roads, such as dust, mud, stagnant water and lack of connectivity.

“Faustino Mojica was a neighborhood that had no access roads and the truth is that this has been a work of great impact. We are grateful to the mayor and to Drummond,” said Nerys Calvo Becerra, civic leader of the Altamira
neighborhood of Fundación, Magdalena.
This initiative is part of Drummond Ltd.’s commitment to strengthen its social responsibility programs, in articulation with the priorities defined by the Municipal Mayor’s Office in its Territorial Development Plan. The paving of these roads not only contributes to improving the quality of life of residents, but also facilitates the transportation of goods, access to public services and the economic development of the area.
“Since this work began, these neighborhoods struck me because they were impenetrable neighborhoods. At the initiative of the community, the paving project began, which has brought about this change that we can all perceive, in which the community is seeing development, urban organization, the appreciation of the land and the development of all the activities that the community wishes to undertake from now on. We are very satisfied and very pleased,” commented Alvaro Daza Pinedo, senior community relations and governance supervisor for Drummond Ltd.
The Municipal Administration emphasized that these works are the result of a rigorous technical planning that allows addressing historical needs of vulnerable communities, improving the basic infrastructure that directly impacts health, education, employment and social development indicators.

“This great work had a time execution of three long months, we complied with anticipation because the time of the work was five months and we did it in record time. We are delivering for our community in partnership with Drummond. Thank you very much for this work that has such an impact on our municipality of Fundación”, said Luz Helena Andrade Campo, Mayor of Fundación, Magdalena.
The intervention was developed in compliance with technical and environmental standards, and also contemplated measures for the aesthetic and functional integration of curbs and crosswalks, so that they respond to the real needs of the community.
This type of public-private alliances reflect the value of coordinated work between the private sector and the territorial entities, achieving the execution of works that have a positive and sustainable effect on the territory.
With this project, Fundación is moving towards an inclusive urban transformation, where infrastructure becomes an engine for collective well-being and social development.
