Drummond Ltd. strengthens educational institutions by donating furniture and school supplies.

With the aim of contributing to the strengthening of educational quality and improving the learning conditions of children and young people in its area of influence, Drummond Ltd., in partnership with the Magdalena Governor’s Office, delivered school supplies and furniture to six educational institutions in the municipalities of Algarrobo, Fundación, and Zona Bananera.

As part of the project, 1,000 student desks, 42 teacher tables, 42 administrative chairs, 10 whiteboards for classrooms, and 132 ceiling fans were delivered, items that will contribute to improving teaching and learning spaces.

“At Drummond, we believe that education is one of the most important tools for promoting the sustainable development of communities. Therefore, we continue to work in close collaboration with authorities and educational institutions to strengthen the conditions that promote access to quality education,” stated Mayra Poveda Contreras, Senior Supervisor of Community and Government Relations for Drummond Ltd. in Magdalena.

The educational institutions that benefited were the Las Mercedes I.E.D, Armando Estrada I.E.D, and Santa Rosalía I.E.D in Zona Bananera; the Fundación I.E.D and Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta I.E.D in Fundación; and the Algarrobo I.E.D in the municipality of Algarrobo.

“We are very happy to receive this generous donation from Drummond. This allows us to improve the students’ environment and the quality of the place where they spend most of their day. We are pleased and very grateful,” commented Maylend Spadafora Hadechiny, principal of the Fundación I.E.D.

For her part, the mayor of Fundación, Luz Helena Andrade Campo, emphasized: “I want to thank Drummond for always being attentive to and supporting our municipality. Today, in the education sector, this donation they are giving to this institution truly benefits our children, improving the educational environment.”

Thanks to our partnership with Drummond, we continue to contribute to strengthening educational institutions in the department by donating desks, whiteboards, and fans—a significant contribution to the well-being and learning of all our children,” stated María Margarita Guerra Zúñiga, Governor of the Magdalena Department.
