As part of the FOCAL project, Strengthening of Strategic Economic Sectors, Drummond Ltd. completed its accompaniment process with the La Palmita Palm Wine Producers and Marketers Association (ASPROVIPAJIL), as part of its commitment to sustainable development in La Jagua de Ibirico, Cesar.
During the project, the company delivered tools and equipment aimed at strengthening the productive and commercial activity of the associates, promoting their sustainability and autonomy.
“We are delivering tools and equipment that support the strengthening of their technical and commercial capabilities,” said Ever Carillo Navarro, Corporate Social Responsibility Project Coordinator for Drummond Ltd.
The FOCAL project seeks to strengthen key sectors in La Jagua de Ibirico, Chiriguaná and El Paso through comprehensive support for representative associations. This includes participatory exercises to identify the cultural, social and economic values of each community, as well as organizational, productive and commercial diagnoses that allow for the formulation of action plans tailored to the realities of the territory.
The impact of the project was reflected in testimonials such as that of Bercelis Rodríguez Ardila, a member of the association, who said: “I have been selling palm wine for some time now and thanks to that I have been able to support my family. I’m almost done with my children finishing their university studies. All this has been possible thanks to this project”.
One of FOCAL’s distinguishing characteristics is the application of methodologies that promote leadership, community participation, inclusion of women and youth, and long-term sustainability.
“This strategy made it possible to focus on the strategic sectors in each territory, strengthening not only the administrative component, but also the operational, logistical and technical aspects of the organizations,” explained Milton Cuadrado Cantillo, representative of the Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina, the project’s technical partner.
With actions like this, Drummond Ltd. ratifies its commitment to promote productive initiatives that generate well-being and progress, betting on sustainable economic development and the strengthening of social capital in the department of Cesar.
