As part of its commitment to sustainability and transparency, Drummond Ltd. successfully carried out the socialization sessions of its Environmental Management Plans (EMP) for the year 2025, in the municipalities of the area of influence of its mining projects in Cesar.
“The socialization of the results of our Environmental Management Plans reflects our commitment to responsible mining that works hand in hand with the territory to promote sustainable development. We thank the communities and local authorities for their participation and trust in this process,” said Mario García Collante, environmental management supervisor for Drummond Ltd.
The workshops were held between October 15 and 23, with the participation of community representatives, social
leaders, local authorities and members of the company’s technical team.
“On this occasion, we thank Drummond for this outreach to the communities and the corporation, because in this way we understand how responsible mining is managed and the benefits that Drummond is generating for our municipalities to thrive,” said Milcíades Castañez Orta, president of the Chiriguaná Council.
During the conference, Drummond presented the progress and results of its environmental management in areas related to ecosystem conservation, water resource management, emissions control, waste management, social programs, environmental compensation actions and the implementation of the progressive closure plan.
The attendees had the opportunity to dialogue directly with the technical team, asking questions related to the social and environmental processes developed by the company.
Hilda Arrieta Naranjo, legal representative of the El Paso Women’s Network, commented: “I leave very satisfied because Drummond really has these spaces with the communities to let them know how it is developing its project, showing responsibility with the blasting, its workers and its communities.”
By holding these workshops, Drummond Ltd. reaffirms its commitment to maintain an open and constructive relationship with the communities, strengthening mutual trust and ensuring compliance with the commitments established in its environmental licenses.
