As a result of the audit carried out in February 2026 by the international certification body LRQA, Drummond Ltd. obtained ISO 14001:2015 recertification of its Environmental Management System.
The certification focuses on “Coal extraction in open-pit mines, in the mining concessions of La Loma, El Descanso and El Corozo”, as well as for the processes of “Reception, Handling and Loading of Coal in Drummond Port”, confirming compliance with the international standards applicable to environmental management in the company’s mining and port operations.
This result demonstrates the organization’s ongoing work in consolidating a solid Environmental Management System, focused on protecting the environment and preventing, mitigating, correcting, and compensating for the environmental impacts resulting from its operations.
“Maintaining ISO 14001 certification is the result of the coordinated work of all areas of the company and the commitment of employees and contractors to responsible environmental management, compliance with environmental standards and continuous improvement of processes. More than a requirement, environmental management is an integral part of how we carry out our activities, strengthening practices that contribute to the protection of the environment and the responsible development of our operations,” highlighted Juan Durán Mejía, environmental management supervisor at Drummond Ltd.
Drummond Ltd. develops its operations in the department of Cesar and has its own port infrastructure in the municipality of Ciénaga-Magdalena for the export of coal. Its operational processes integrate various management tools, aimed at strengthening environmental performance and promoting the responsible use of natural resources.
La recertificación ISO 14001:2015 estará vigente del 27 de marzo de 2026 al 26 de marzo de 2029, periodo en el que Drummond Ltd., reafirma su compromiso con el fortalecimiento continuo de la gestión ambiental y la protección del entorno en las regiones donde desarrolla sus operaciones.
