La Loma, April 1, 2026

As part of its sustainability strategy and commitment to community development, Drummond Ltd. held a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony for the High Impact Housing Project in the township of La Loma, municipality of El Paso, Cesar.
This milestone represents the start of the construction phase of the project, which will benefit 60 families previously prioritized through a technical and social process, focused on improving their living conditions and quality of life. In this first stage, the construction of 30 homes in La Loma and 30 more distributed between Potrerillo, Cuatro Vientos, El Carmen and El Vallito is planned.
Yasmery Bello Puerta, a beneficiary of the project, emotionally shared her gratitude for the transformative impact of this project: “It was the only wattle and daub house in my neighborhood, and that’s where this great work that you are going to give me came from. Thank God for putting you in my path, thank you!
The homes will have a constructed area of 71.40 square meters and will include three bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a bathroom and a front garden, guaranteeing functional and comfortable spaces for the beneficiary families.

“We are going to start the first 60 homes in El Paso. People who were living in comfortable but not dignified conditions will now have some of the best housing in the area,” said Alfredo Araujo Castro, Vice President of Community and Government Relations at Drummond Ltd.
This project is being developed in conjunction with the Mayor’s Office of El Paso and strategic partners, in compliance with agreements with the National Mining Agency, and is part of the high social impact initiatives that Drummond promotes in its area of influence.
“These homes are a dream come true for the beneficiaries and I know they will have a great impact on our community. We have a good neighbor committed to the development of our town and they also have an administration that thinks about the community,” commented Jesús Ortiz Cervantes, mayor of El Paso, Cesar.
The laying of the first stone symbolizes the beginning of a process that will positively impact the lives of dozens of families, contributing to the reduction of inequality and the fulfillment of Sustainable Development Goals such as No Poverty (SDG 1), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11) and Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9).

With this initiative, Drummond reaffirms its purpose to continue building sustainable development and generating opportunities that transform lives in the communities of Cesar.
