In a joint effort to promote educational development in rural areas, Drummond Ltd., in partnership with the National Federation of Coffee Growers and the Community Action Board, delivered dignified, safe and functional educational spaces at the San Javier Rural Educational Institution, located in the San Javier district, municipality of Cienaga, Magdalena.

The intervention included the renovation of ten classrooms, two sets of restrooms, the strengthening of the dining room and kitchen, as well as the delivery of new equipment to improve the learning experience of the students.

The institution also received new furniture, including desks, blackboards, teachers’ desks and chairs, and essential supplies to ensure comfortable and conducive environments for teaching.

“Today we inaugurate our new school, a space that represents much more than classrooms and hallways; it is a place where the dreams of each student can grow, where we will learn, create, investigate and build a better future. “This school is the result of the effort and collaboration of many, Drummond, the National Federation of Coffee Growers, the Community Action Board and our principal,” said Antonella Quintero, a student at IED San Javier.

Thanks to this intervention, more than 300 students will benefit directly, strengthening their conditions for remaining in school and opening new opportunities for growth for the community.

“Working hand in hand with Drummond to improve the educational infrastructure in the township of San Javier allows us to provide well-being to all coffee-growing families, especially to children and young people who need intergenerational integration to strengthen the educational quality of their territory,” said Sara Illidge Díaz Granados, executive director of the Magdalena Coffee Growers Committee.

“At Drummond, we are committed to being a vehicle for transformation through quality education.” “Improving educational infrastructure through our social investment is a way to contribute to the development and well-being of communities,” highlighted Mayra Poveda, senior supervisor of community and government relations in Magdalena.

With this project, Drummond Ltd. reaffirms its commitment to the comprehensive development of rural communities, educational quality, and the well-being of families in Magdalena.
