Drummond Ltd. held another edition of its Safety Summit with contractors, under the theme “A Year of Challenges in a Special Context.” This event was designed to address common issues, analyze the current context of organizations, and align practices aimed at strengthening a safety culture.
During the day, which brought together company leaders and representatives from contracting companies, participants engaged in collective reflection on current challenges in industrial safety, as well as the leadership needed to continue consolidating safe, responsible, and sustainable work environments.
The agenda included the talk “Sustainable Leadership in Safety in an Era of Change,” presented by Adriana Solano, president of the Colombian Safety Council; the conference “Update on Legal Requirements in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH),” presented by Silvia Pardo, a lawyer specializing in occupational safety and health; and the presentation “Current Environment and Challenges of the Mining Sector in Colombia,” presented by Juan Camilo Nariño, president of the Colombian Mining Association (ACM), and the space “Strategic Allies: Building Security in Times of Challenge”, focused on highlighting the role of contracting companies in strengthening the security culture.



As part of the event, the company gave special recognition to contracting companies that, in addition to maintaining outstanding safety performance, demonstrated leadership in the responsible management of the various internal and external factors impacting operations. This year’s recipients were: Aseres, JCM S.A.S., Komatsu, VB, Relianz, Confipetrol, Sevin Ltda., Viaservin, Laboratorios Nancy Flórez García S.A.S., Transportes Montejo, Tecnofuego, and Equilivianos.
“We are proud to receive this recognition. It is the fruit of the work of a team that has made many efforts to achieve a level of security that is full of challenges, maturity, commitment, leadership, and many ethical values that are reflected in this award,” said Mary Piñeres Mestre, manager of Aseres.
For his part, Francisco Mazeneth Meza, Commercial Manager of Laboratorios Nancy Flórez García, highlighted the value of this type of recognition for organizations: “As a company, it is a great satisfaction to receive this award. It reflects our commitment to safety, where we understand that the support of senior management for all our employees is essential, always guaranteeing their well-being and safety”.

From the company, Johnny Guerrero, Safety Manager at Drummond Ltd., highlighted the importance of these spaces for further strengthening collaborative efforts in prevention. “This summit allows us to share experiences, analyze the context our organizations face, and reinforce our commitment to safety. Working closely with our contractors is fundamental to continuing to build a solid preventative culture, where every decision and every action is geared towards protecting the lives and well-being of people,” he stated.
