Reaffirming its commitment to education in the communities within its area of influence, Drummond Ltd. completed the construction and improvement project for the San Isidro Agro-Environmental Educational Institution, Buenos Aires village campus, located in the rural area of the municipality of La Jagua de Ibirico, in the Serranía del Perijá mountain range.
“For Drummond, it is very gratifying to see this project become a reality for the children and young people of the Buenos Aires village. We know that having adequate spaces directly influences the motivation and well-being of students. We continue working hand in hand with the community and the municipal administration because we believe that education is the foundation for the development of our regions,” commented Yilda Pineda García, Senior Supervisor of Community and Government Relations for Drummond Ltd. in Cesar.

The project was developed in collaboration with the Municipal Government and the educational community, with the goal of providing safer, more comfortable, and more suitable spaces for student learning.
“We are delivering on our promises to our children by providing them, in partnership with our good neighbor Drummond, with better classrooms and, above all, a proper school where they can receive their education,” said Leonardo Hernández Cataño, Mayor of La Jagua de Ibirico.
The project included the construction of a new classroom, the renovation of an existing classroom, the installation of a perimeter fence, and the upgrading of the kitchen/dining area and restrooms, providing students with safer and more suitable spaces for their learning process.
Danibeth Chinchilla Pérez, a student at the Buenos Aires rural school, expressed her gratitude on behalf of all her classmates: “Thank you, Drummond, for improving our school. Now we have a better place to learn.”
With this new project, Drummond Ltd. has now completed a total of 20 projects at educational facilities in the municipality of La Jagua de Ibirico, strengthening the quality of education in the rural area of Cesar and reaffirming its commitment to the social development and well-being of the communities where it operates.
