As part of its commitment to the welfare of the communities, Drummond Ltd., through the Mayor’s Office of Santa Marta, delivered humanitarian aid to families affected by the heavy rains recorded in recent days in the capital of Magdalena.
The company, in coordination with the district administration, designed a support plan to assist households that suffered material losses and are in a situation of vulnerability. The aid included essential items to cover basic needs and improve the living conditions of the victims, such as mattresses, fans and non-perishable groceries.

“In emergencies of this nature, Drummond has always been present and has been very supportive of the communities in its area of influence. We have had events such as the pandemic, floods in the towns along the railroad corridor, and Drummond has always been present and has collaborated with supplies for the most affected populations. In this case, the support consisted of fans, mattresses and groceries, which the people will certainly be very grateful for,” said Enrique Álvarez Rebolledo, administrative manager of Drummond Port.
These deliveries reflect the importance of the union and cooperation between the public and private sectors as a fundamental strategy to mitigate the impacts of emergencies and advance in the recovery process.
“On behalf of the mayor, the entire administration and Santa Marta, we would like to thank allies like Drummond who are supporting us today with an important donation for the more than 40 neighborhoods that were affected by the rains. This is the perfect harmony between the public and private sectors to build the city,” said Marcela Sierra Cuello, city manager and secretary of culture (e).
This initiative is part of the permanent corporate social responsibility actions that Drummond develops in its areas of influence, through programs focused on social development, community strengthening, education, health and emergency care. With this support, the company reaffirms its commitment to be a strategic ally of the communities, contributing resources, time and efforts for the benefit of those who need it most.
Drummond will continue to promote actions that promote collective wellbeing, working in coordination with different stakeholders to build sustainable solutions and contribute to strengthening the social fabric in the department of Magdalena and other regions of the country.
