Reaffirming its commitment to education as an engine of development and social transformation, Drummond Ltd. officially awarded the 2026 Drummond Scholarships, benefiting 19 young people from Cesar and Magdalena, reaching a total of 263 awarded since the creation of the program.
“At Drummond we are convinced that investing in education is investing in the future of the regions, in their talent and in their capacity to generate sustainable progress. Therefore, the Drummond Scholarship Program represents much more than academic support for an individual or a family. It is a firm commitment to the human and social growth of Cesar and Magdalena. With this commitment, we reaffirm our decision to continue supporting the development of young people in the region. “This year we added 19 scholarships to the 244 previously awarded,” said José Miguel Linares, president of Drummond Ltd.

Thank you for believing in the talent and effort of young people,” said Dairo Mario Rodríguez Cardozo, a recipient of the 2026 Drummond Scholarships in Magdalena.
During the ceremonies, the beneficiaries received the official document confirming the awarding of the scholarship, which includes full funding of university tuition, a monthly living allowance, and psychosocial support, fundamental pillars of the Drummond Scholarship Program.
“Each scholarship represents a story of effort, discipline, and dreams that begin to materialize. For Drummond, supporting these young people and their families is a responsibility we take on with deep commitment, convinced that education is one of the most powerful tools to generate opportunities and sustainable development in our communities,” said Mayra Poveda, senior supervisor of community and government relations for Drummond in Magdalena, and coordinator of the Drummond Scholarship Program.
Award for contribution to regional development

In this same setting, the company received an award from the Diocese of Santa Marta to its president, José Miguel Linares, and its vice president of community and government relations, Alfredo Araujo Castro, who were distinguished with the commemorative medal for the 500th anniversary of Santa Marta, in recognition of their leadership, social commitment and contribution to the integral development of the region.
Homenaje a Álvaro Daza Pinedo
A particularly emotional moment occurred during the Magdalena ceremony, in which a commemorative tribute was paid to Álvaro Daza Pinedo, who for years led the Drummond Scholarship Program with dedication, approachability, and a deep social commitment. His retirement in 2025 marked the end of an exemplary professional stage and the beginning of a legacy that continues to live on in every young beneficiary.
With the Drummond Scholarship Program, the company reaffirms its commitment to the well-being of communities in its area of influence, integrating education as an essential component of its sustainability vision and building opportunities that transcend generations.
