Ciénaga, November 14, 2025

Drummond Ltd., in alliance with the United Way Colombia Foundation, successfully completed the project “Educational Quality with Drummond in the railroad corridor and Ciénaga”, with several closing ceremonies in the different municipalities of Magdalena and Cesar
This initiative, developed during the year 2025, contributed to the strengthening of teaching capacities and the improvement of learning in educational institutions in the region. The project benefitted 900 teachers and more than 21,363 students from 16 educational institutions in the municipalities of Bosconia, El Copey, Algarrobo, Fundación, Aracataca, Zona Bananera and Ciénaga.
This initiative promoted a more innovative, participatory and student-centered education. During its implementation, teachers were trained in active methodologies, design thinking and digital tools that promote the development of skills such as creativity, collaboration, assertive communication and problem solving.

“For us, this partnership has been very important because it has motivated our teachers to practice innovative academic and pedagogical practices. It has motivated and created a family atmosphere in the teaching staff and in the board of directors, observing with great satisfaction how the teachers work in a united, integrated manner and how they try to create and innovate in their pedagogical and academic practices in the classroom,” said Henry Mendoza Bustos, Algarrobo I.E.D.’s dean.
The project implemented the Design Thinking approach, which allowed teachers to create educational solutions adapted to their local contexts. As a result, 16 pedagogical prototypes were designed to improve teaching and learning processes, thus strengthening educational quality and the socioemotional well-being of students.
“We strongly believe in education as a driver of social transformation. Through alliances such as this one, we promote the talent of our teachers and foster learning environments that open opportunities for the future of our communities,” said Amalí Blanco Bohórquez, coordinator of social responsibility projects.
The closing of the project included the socialization of innovative pedagogical experiences developed by the participating teachers, who are now consolidated as leaders of educational change in their territories.
With this initiative, Drummond Ltd. reaffirms its commitment to education, equity and integral development, contributing in a tangible way to the progress of the communities of the railroad corridor and Ciénaga.
