As part of its commitment to strengthening education and social development in its areas of influence, Drummond Ltd., in conjunction with the Municipal Mayor’s Office of Agustín Codazzi, officially delivered infrastructure works at the Luis Giraldo Educational Institution, General Santander and María Reina campuses, located in the township of Casacará.
This project was carried out in agreement with the municipal administration, in a coordinated effort aimed at strengthening the educational infrastructure of the district. As part of this partnership, Drummond Ltd. provided the construction materials and endowment, while the local government contributed by hiring the workforce and supervising the project.
“At Drummond Ltd. we believe that investing in education is investing in the future of communities. “We are pleased to contribute to strengthening school infrastructure in Casacará and reaffirm our commitment to continue working for the sustainable development of the territory,” commented Yilda Pineda García, senior supervisor of community and government relations for Drummond Ltd. in Cesar.
At the General Santander and María Reina locations, the interventions included the construction of a kitchen for food preparation, a bathroom and changing room for staff, an upgrade of the electrical system, and a storage room.
Additionally, school furniture was provided and, at the General Santander headquarters, 300 linear meters of perimeter fencing were constructed, contributing to improving the safety and well-being conditions for the entire educational community.
“If we have better spaces in schools, children will be in school and this allows us to isolate them from paths other than education, which is the main path for the development of each one of them,” added Hernán Baquero Rodríguez, mayor of Agustín Codazzi, Cesar.
Eder Díaz Arrieta, principal of the Luis Giraldo Educational Institution in Casacará, expressed his gratitude for the completion of the works and the commitment to improving the educational infrastructure, and stated: “We welcome these works, which have a great impact on our students, as they will strengthen their education.”
With these deliveries, Drummond Ltd. reaffirms its commitment to social development, education, and the strengthening of communities in the municipality of Agustín Codazzi, promoting safe and adequate spaces that foster learning and well-being for new generations.
