As part of its commitment to the well-being and development of the communities in its area of influence, Drummond Ltd., in conjunction with the Mayor’s Office of El Paso, delivered the construction and equipment works of the Children´s Development Center (CDI) Mis Primeros Pasos, in the township of La Loma, and the Lluvias de Amor CDI in the municipal capital.
These projects are aimed at strengthening comprehensive early childhood care by creating safe and functional spaces. Together, the two centers directly benefit more than 450 children, as well as 24 teachers, strengthening access to quality early childhood education.

“For Drummond Ltd., it is very meaningful to be able to contribute to the fulfillment of the dreams of the communities in our area of influence. The opening of these Child Development Centers represents an important step in strengthening care for early childhood, through dignified, safe and adequate spaces for their integral development,” said Alfredo Araujo Castro, Vice President of Community and Government Relations at Drummond Ltd.
The project included a comprehensive intervention in infrastructure and equipment. At the CDI Mis Primeros Pasos, six classrooms, a kitchen-dining room, an administrative area and sanitary facilities were built, as well as the improvement of 4 existing classrooms. On the other hand, the CDI Lluvias de Amor integrated the construction of ten classrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, sanitary facilities, an administrative area and spaces for care and services.

Jesús Ortiz Cervantes, mayor of El Paso, Cesar, highlighted the teamwork carried out with the company: “Thanks to Drummond for being the good neighbor we have had. We are demonstrating that with good collaboration between the public and private sectors, we can achieve great results for the benefit of our communities.”
As part of the complementary works, a children’s park was built at the CDI Mis Primeros Pasos, designed to provide safe and suitable recreational spaces for children. Additionally, the CDIs were equipped with furniture for educational and administrative areas, including tables, children’s chairs, desks, filing cabinets, boards and elements for the proper functioning of the spaces, as well as ventilation equipment that contributes to the wellbeing of the users.

With these actions, Drummond Ltd. continues to contribute to strengthening early childhood education and the sustainable development of communities, through projects that generate a positive impact and promote better opportunities for children.
