{"id":9031,"date":"2017-05-17T23:47:00","date_gmt":"2017-05-18T04:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/drummondltd.com\/uncategorized\/2017\/05\/17\/students-from-the-universidad-de-la-costa-visit-the-pribbenow-mine\/"},"modified":"2022-08-12T15:53:52","modified_gmt":"2022-08-12T20:53:52","slug":"students-from-the-universidad-de-la-costa-visit-the-pribbenow-mine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/drummondltd.com\/en\/students-from-the-universidad-de-la-costa-visit-the-pribbenow-mine\/","title":{"rendered":"Students from the Universidad de la Costa visit the Pribbenow Mine"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La Loma, May 17, 2017<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thirty-five students from the Universidad de la Costa\u2019s engineering faculty visited the installations of the Pribbenow Mine, with the purpose of learning about our operations.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The students began their visit with talks led by the different representatives of the Engineering, Environmental, and Community Relations areas, with the purpose of explaining to the students everything about Drummond Ltd.\u2019s operational and social aspects. The questions that arose from the talks were mainly related to environmental management, backfilling processes, and the programs established by the company with the people and the communities belonging to the area of influence.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the talks, the students had the opportunity to visit the lookout point by ramp 7, where they were able to observe the mining and truck operations in that area. They also had the chance to understand the important role played by the El Paujil Dam, in all of the tasks developed within the La Loma project.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, both students and professors showed their appreciation for the visit, and stated the relevance that this experience has in each of the assistant\u2019s education. \u201cThe experience at Drummond\u2019s installations has been very satisfactory. I\u2019ve learned a lot about the plans they manage, I think it has been excellent, and it is what I expected from the instructors that gave us these talks,\u201d expressed Sebastian Rangel, Environmental Engineering student at the Universidad de la Costa.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI think that these visits are important for the students because they need to learn the reality of an open-pit coal mining system.
