Regarding a motion for alleged non-compliance for the Caporo field, which is currently operated by Drummond Energy in the La Loma Contract, in the center of the department of Cesar, the company reports that in 2004 it signed the Exploration and Production Contract to develop hydrocarbons in general, including gas from coal seams.<\/p>\n\n
After several years of exploration work, under the strictest technical, environmental and social requirements, Drummond declared the commercialization of this field in 2012. Simultaneously, in that year, the company began the process of environmental licensing for the production of the area of Caporo field, based on the existing regulations.<\/p>\n\n
To this end, Drummond Energy carried out an environmental study that took into account the highest standards of resource care, as well as an entire management and impact mitigation plan. This environmental license for the production of Caporo was approved in 2016.<\/p>\n\n
During 2017 and the first half of 2018, 15 wells of the Caporo field were drilled. Sinc e then, Drummond Energy has produced gas from the coal seams in the Caporo field. It is important to highlight that these wells were drilled vertically and intervened with a traditional hydraulic stimulation technique, similar to that which has been used in the country for more than 50 years, in fields such as Cusiana, Cupiagua and Apiay, among others.<\/p>\n\n
Finally, the Company declares that all the activities implemented by Drummond Energy have been carried out under existing regulations, environmental licenses and the Contract signed.
