{"id":8602,"date":"2018-08-10T12:25:00","date_gmt":"2018-08-10T17:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/drummondltd.com\/uncategorized\/2018\/08\/10\/golombiao-the-game-of-peace-is-back-in-cienaga-2\/"},"modified":"2022-08-12T15:51:51","modified_gmt":"2022-08-12T20:51:51","slug":"golombiao-the-game-of-peace-is-back-in-cienaga-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/drummondltd.com\/en\/golombiao-the-game-of-peace-is-back-in-cienaga-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Golombiao: The Game of Peace is Back in Cienaga"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Cienaga, August 10, 2018<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/drummondltd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/El-Golombiao-El-juego-de-la-paz-vuelve-a-Cienaga_2-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6581\"\/><figcaption>A total of 6 institutions from the municipality of Ci\u00e9naga will participate in the &#8220;Building values \u200b\u200bthrough play&#8221; strategy.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-6581\">Drummond Ltd., the Reincorporation and Normalization Agency (ARN for the Spanish), and the Municipal Mayor of Cienaga inaugurated the second season of the \u201cbuilding values through games\u201d strategy.<\/p>\n\n<p>Principles such as equality, non-violence, freedom of expression, active participation, non-discrimination, and care of self and others will be the star players in \u2018Golombiao, the Game of Peace.\u2019 The second season will benefit around 600 young people in 6 schools who want to learn values on and off the field.<\/p>\n\n<p>The launching of the strategy kicks off the tournament in which sports will be the channel for teaching students from the schools Alianza para el Progreso, El Carmen, La Maria, Alfredo Correa de Andreis, Enoc Mendoza and Carlos Garcia Mayorca new forms of relating to each other and how to make good use of their free time in activities that promote getting along with each other.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cBuilding values through games\u201d has emerged out of an institutional partnership to work on topics related to prevention and guarantees for the rights of teens. In addition to being an arena for recreation and fun, it helps young people reflect in order to strengthen principles, and not just at school. The project\u2019s positive impact is expanded by involving families and the community.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/drummondltd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/El-Golombiao-El-juego-de-la-paz-vuelve-a-Cienaga-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6582\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<p>During the inauguration ceremony, each participating school received its sports equipment donated by Drummond Ltd. to make deployment of the strategy possible. The students also enjoyed a video showing the best moments from the first season of the \u2018Golombiao\u2019 tournament, which took place in 2017.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re proud to see how the young people who participated last season have been able to apply at their schools, at home, and in their communities the values they learned while playing. And that\u2019s why we have once again joined this institutional partnership,\u201d stated Alvaro Daza, Coordinator of Drummond Ltd.\u2019s Community Relations Department. <\/p>\n\n<p>In its work with former combatants, the ARN discovered that 40% of all people involved in a reintegration process joined the armed group when they were minors. ARN Coordinator for the Magdalena-Guajira region, Jose Nicolas Wild explained, \u201cThat figure just kept on echoing in our heads.
