Scholarship Program,<br \/>\nceremonies were held to award the 20 university scholarships<br \/>\nfrom the La Loma and El Descanso projects, a program that<br \/>\nhas benefitted young graduates of public high schools<br \/>\nin the mining area of influence in Cesar and Magdalena for 15 years.\n  <\/p>\n<p>\n In its<br \/>\nfifteenth year, the scholarships that the Company granted generate<br \/>\neconomic, social and development value in the areas where it operates. The new<br \/>\nscholarship recipients are supported with full payment of their university studies plus the<br \/>\ndisbursement of a living stipend to support them while they pursue<br \/>\ntheir professional degrees.\n  <\/p>\n<p>\n \u201cFor the next<br \/>\ngeneration, economic growth and wealth are not enough. Today<br \/>\nwe look at how they contribute to greater equality, to reducing the gap<br \/>\nbetween people with higher and lower incomes. We have been working on programs<br \/>\nto reduce these gaps and generate well-being for the communities<br \/>\nas a whole,\u201d said Jos\u00e9 Miguel Linares, President of Drummond Ltd.\n  <\/p>\n<p>\n   <strong><br \/>\n Education, a pillar<br \/>\nof sustainable development<br \/>\n   <\/strong>\n  <\/p>\n<p>\n Before the names<br \/>\nof the scholarship recipients were announced,<br \/>\npanels were held on \u201cEducation, a pillar of sustainable development,\u201d during which the perspectives of<br \/>\ndifferent beneficiaries were shared by department: a dean of a public school and university,<br \/>\nan active scholarship recipient, a former scholarship recipient, a parent of one<br \/>\nof the recipients and the coordinator of Drummond Ltd.\u2019s scholarship program, in addition<br \/>\nto the support of the moderators.\n  <\/p>\n<p>\n \u201cDrummond turned my life around 180 degrees. Colombia and<br \/>\ncompany employees.\n  <\/p>\n<p>\n The new scholarship recipients from<br \/>\nthe Cesar Department are: Carlos Daniel Avenda\u00f1o Viancha, Salom\u00f3n Botero<br \/>\nArzuaga from La Jagua de Ibirico; Saray Mishell Dur\u00e1n Sierra and Lendeivis Navarro<br \/>\nAlfaro from Bosconia; Jos\u00e9 Fabi\u00e1n Acu\u00f1a Chamorro from El Paso; Miguel \u00c1ngel Rubio<br \/>\nP\u00e9rez from Chiriguan\u00e1; Yenifer Passo P\u00e9rez and Dayana Rodr\u00edguez Gil from Becerril;<br \/>\nMichell Dayana Tarazona S\u00e1nchez and Ana Elena Arias Torres from El Copey, Adri\u00e1n<br \/>\nDavid Cogollo S\u00e1ez, Mariana Isabel Casta\u00f1eda Molina, Wendy Rosa Mej\u00eda Cantillo,<br \/>\n   <strong><br \/>\n  ,<br \/>\n   <\/strong><br \/>\n Leidy Mar\u00eda Cuellar Castro and Mar\u00eda Fernanda Oquendo from Agust\u00edn Codazzi.<br \/>\n   <strong><br \/>\n   <\/strong>\n  <\/p>\n<p>\n From the Magdalena Department<br \/>\nscholarships were awarded to: Valeria Camila Ortega<br \/>\nand Isa\u00edas de Jes\u00fas Pacheco Camargo<br \/>\nfrom Cienaga, Mar\u00eda Alejandra Contreras Redondo and Eliceo de Jes\u00fas Aparicio de La Hoz<br \/>\nfrom the municipality of Zona Bananera and Jos\u00e9 David Guerra Osorio from Aracataca,<br \/>\nwho attended with their invited guests.\n  <\/p>\n<p>\n On the other hand<br \/>\nIn addition, one of the new scholarship recipients, Isa\u00edas De Jes\u00fas Pacheco,<br \/>\nexpressed his gratitude and happiness at being able to share this award, alongside<br \/>\nhis parents, that will begin his professional life. \u201cToday I would like to thank Drummond for opening the doors to<br \/>\nhigher education and for allowing me to fulfill my dreams&#8221;.\n  <\/p>\n<p>\n This initiative<br \/>\nadds to the progress of the next generation, as well as complying with<br \/>\nthe fourth of the UN\u2019S Sustainable Development Goals, Quality Education, and<br \/>\nDrummond Ltd.\u2019s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy through<br \/>\nthe pillar of Comprehensive Development of Education and Training.\n  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cienaga, February 18, 2020 As a contribution educating the next generation, as part of the Drummond Ltd.
