Drummond Ltd. continues to demonstrate its strong commitment to the communities in its area of influence. On this occasion, it donated materials for the construction of the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Church in La Jagua de Ibirico, Cesar.
This donation was made as part of the Institutional and Community Strengthening Program in the Social Investment and Outreach action line. The goal is to help establish arenas where the inhabitants in the areas of influence can enjoy life in community together.
“At Drummond we continue to strengthen the communities in our area of influence. We have been working with the Diocese of Valledupar, and with the Bishop, Monsignor Oscar Jose Velez, to build, remodel and furnish churches in our area of influence. So far we have helped out with more than 20 churches located in the municipalities in the mining corridor,” stated Yilda Tatiana Pineda, Community Relations Coordinator.
“The community is grateful, and they understand Drummond is our friend. Our commitment now is to make excellent use of these donations, to supervise in order to ensure efficient execution, and offer our willingness to serve,” said Jorge Balcazar, priest in the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe parish.
Under the ‘Comprehensive Development’ pillar of its social responsibility strategy, Drummond will continue to make contributions toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals by taking action to help build stronger communities.
