In the presence of the authorities of Zona Bananera and the community in general, the Company delivered an all-terrain vehicle with an ultra-high pressure pump imported from Germany.

Drummond Ltd. continues to demonstrate its commitment to its neighboring communities. On this occasion, the beneficiaries were the inhabitants of Zona Bananera in the Department of Magdalena. Official delivery was made to the Voluntary Fire Department of a Ranger 570 UTV firefighting vehicle, the result of an investment of close to 100 million pesos.

The firefighting vehicle is equipped with useful items for responding to emergency situations, such as a 10-lb multipurpose extinguisher, a pick axe and a flat axe for fire trucks, a highway kit, a firstaid kit, a fire hook, a foam producing nozzle, and a suction hose.

“We don’t know how we can thank Drummond for this gift. This cutting-edge equipment will allow us to more efficiently respond to the forest fires that occur in our jurisdiction,”stated the Commander of the Fire Department in Zona Bananera, Prudencio Perez. He also added that the country’s current severe dry season caused by El Niño has caused trees and green areas of the municipality to catch on fire. “With this gift we can more effectively respond to cases like these ones.”

The official delivery was witnessed by the authorities of this municipality and the community in general, who expressed their gratitude to the company for the support received.

The municipal mayor, Holmes Echeverria, expressed his gratitude for Drummond Ltd.’s support for its development plan. “Once again I would like to thank Drummond for allowing us to continue to grow. The delivery of this vehicle will help us, through our firefighters, to save lives. Thank you to the Company for always supporting us,” he stated.

“We donated this vehicle because we’re sure it’s going to be very useful to the firefighters in Zona Bananera, because the terrain in these districts is frequently difficult to access. Now, with this UTV they can more effectively mobilize, taking care of all of the municipality’s inhabitants,” explained Alvaro Daza, Community Relations Coordinator at Drummond Ltd.

The purchase of the vehicle also includes a training course the voluntary firefighters will receive in coming days to learn how to use the ultra-high-pressure pump. That training will be managed by the company that sold the product, Alpecorp Colombia Ltd.
