Drummond Ltd. held a presentation at its port facility on the results of the implementation of the Environmental Management Plan (PMA) for the 2024 period and the Risk and Disaster Management Plan (PGRD) for the 2025 period, among other topics of interest. The event was attended by neighboring communities, environmental authorities, educational institutions, public sector entities, and the media.
The opening ceremony was led by John Encinales Ospina, environmental projects engineer at Drummond Ltd., who emphasized that these spaces “allow for clear information sharing and building relationships with the surrounding communities.”
During the workshops, Rafael Ortiz Flórez, supervisor of the environmental department, presented the results of the management and monitoring measures for the physical and biotic components, including particulate matter controls, activities for efficient water use, and actions for the conservation of flora and fauna.
Edinson González Pérez and Diego Quintero Moscarella, industrial safety supervisors, explained the Risk and Disaster Management Plan, which includes prevention, preparedness, and response strategies for emergencies caused by natural and man-made events.

On their part, William Espinosa Espinosa and Connie Linares Carvajal, from the Social Responsibility and Communities areas, highlighted the sustainable management led byneighboring communities and the role of the Citizen Service System (SAC) as a direct channel for listening to and resolving community concerns.
Drummond Ltd. also presented significant progress in its carbon neutrality strategy projected for 2050, through the use of biofuels and clean technologies. These initiatives are complemented by technical training and awareness programs on human rights, ethics, sustainability, and good labor practices for employees, contractors, suppliers, and community leaders.
“This call by Drummond is extremely important, not only to the municipal administration but also to the leaders of the various coastal neighborhoods in the municipality of Ciénaga. This is so we can learn about the procedures and environmental management practices that Drummond employs in all of its operations, and to clarify all of the projects with which Drummond has been supporting the communities in one way or another, “emphasized Luis Fernández Quinto, mayor of Ciénaga, Magdalena.
On other topics related to human resources, hiring, and procurement, it was reiterated that 82% of the company’s personnel come from its area of influence, and the company’s commitment to developing local suppliers was emphasized.
During the meeting, Francisco Pacheco Senior, a Corpamag official, highlighted that: “After reviewing the environmental management plan that Drummond presents for 2024, we believe the company has demonstrated seriousness and responsibility. It fully complies with its objectives and goals and has all its environmental permits up to date: water concessions, atmospheric emissions permits, and permits for the use of natural resources.
The space included questions from attendees and allowed for direct dialogue with the speakers. These workshops are part of Drummond Ltd.’s commitment to responsible management and community engagement.
