*Clean point located in the administrative area of the Pribbenow mine.
Reaffirming its environmental commitment, during 2024, Drummond Ltd. managed to take advantage of 76 % of the waste generated in its mining and port operations through its Integrated Waste Management Program (PGIR). This is equivalent to the recovery of 23,024 tons out of a total of 30,493 tons generated.
It is important to note that 51% of the waste collected (15,580 tons) corresponded to non-hazardous waste, such as scrap metal, wood, cardboard, plastic, glass and used tires. On the other hand, the remaining 25% (7,444 tons) corresponded to hazardous waste, such as oily solids, used oils, luminaries, batteries, soils affected with hydrocarbons, electrical and electronic equipment.

To manage its waste, Drummond has 341 color-coded “clean points” at its mining and port operations. On a daily basis, the company collects, classifies and temporarily stores waste, facilitating its subsequent commercialization and recovery through an external environmental manager.
*The company has a color code for the correct
segregation of waste.
The following table shows the data corresponding to the amount of waste used in the different recycling processes carried out by the company during the year 2024:
Type of waste | Quantity (tons) |
---|---|
Scrap | 8.664 |
Wood | 1.227 |
Cardboard | 234 |
Plastic | 34 |
Glass | 5 |
Used tires | 4.166 |
Organics | 1.250 |
Oily solids | 1.681 |
Soils affected by hydrocarbons | 339 |

“The results once again demonstrate the commitment of employees and contractors to comply with environmental standards for waste segregation and classification. In line with the environmental strategies established to maximize the use of waste generated in mining operations and port operations,” said Juan Durán, environmental management supervisor at Drummond Ltd.
In this way, Drummond reaffirms its commitment to the preservation of the environment through the development of sustainable activities.
