Socialization of the improvement of the educational infrastructure in the village of Campo Alegre
As part of its commitment to the social and educational development of the communities in its area of influence, Drummond Ltd. announced the start of the project to build and improve the educational infrastructure in the villages of Manizales Bajo and Campo Alegre, belonging to the San Isidro Agro-Environmental Educational Institution. This initiative will benefit more than 100 children in rural areas, generating adequate and safe learning spaces.
“We continue to deliver good news for education in the municipalities of the area of influence. By strengthening institutional and community capacity, we contribute to quality education and contribute to Sustainable Development Goal SDG 4,” said Yilda Tatiana Pineda, Senior Supervisor of Community Relations and Government at Drummond Ltd.

The project, which is being developed together with the municipal administration and the educational community, seeks to transform the conditions of these two school sites, strengthening the access and permanence of students in the educational system.
“I have been in La Jagua de Ibirico for eight years and I have seen the commitment that Drummond has always had with education in the rural area,” said Fabián Calderón Navarro, dean of the San Isidro Agro-environmental Educational Institution.
For the community and the municipal administration, this work represents a significant advance in rural education. “We are pleased that Drummond has prioritized these two locations in the village of Manizales Bajo and the village of Campo Alegre. The educational community will thank you, and this will help improve the quality of education in the rural sector,” said Leonardo Hernández Cataño, mayor of the municipality of La Jagua de Ibirico.
On the other hand, the community leaders highlighted the positive impact that this intervention will bring. “I am very grateful to Drummond for making this project a reality, which we have been working on for a long time and which today is a reality. Providing this opportunity to our students and our communities is to bring development to our village,” said Wilson Reyes Quintana, president of the Community Action Board of the Campo Alegre village.
With these actions, Drummond Ltd. continues to bet on the social transformation and progress of rural communities, promoting appropriate educational environments for the new generations.
