As part of its ongoing commitment to the education and well-being of the communities where it operates, Drummond Ltd. held a volunteer day for the cleaning and painting of the sports court at La Francia School, part of the Darío Torregrosa Pérez Educational Institution, in Ciénaga, Magdalena.

The activity involved officials from the company’s Communities area, students, parents, and community leaders, demonstrating that coordinated work generates a positive impact on education and the quality of life of students.

To carry out this initiative, Drummond Ltd. provided supplies such as paint, brushes, and rollers, as well as snacks for the participants. This volunteer work represents the final phase of the fifth stage, in the support that the company has developed with the institution for more than 15 years. This period of time has allowed for the construction of 13 classrooms, two bathroom blocks, and the sports court with its roof.

“This is a very important activity. It is a volunteer project in which community leaders, parents, students, the educational board, and Drummond officials are painting the court as the final stage of a process that we started more than 15 years ago and that we are successfully completing today,” said Álvaro Daza Pinedo, senior supervisor of communities at Drummond Ltd.

The impact of this intervention is reflected in the growth of the school’s student population, which has tripled thanks to the improvement of the infrastructure. In this respect, Helen Carolina Montenegro Bocanegra, coordinator of the institution, highlighted: “We have been working for days with Drummond painting the field, with which we will benefit more than 350 students and the entire community of the Simón Bolívar neighborhood. This is important for us and we are grateful for this ongoing commitment made by Drummond to education in Ciénaga.”

In addition to improving infrastructure, this initiative strengthens the sense of community and commitment to education. Catherine María Vélez Barrios, mother of a student, expressed: “We thank God and the company that has sent us their help, their collaboration for our children, their growth, and their development.”

With this type of initiative, Drummond Ltd. reaffirms its role as a strategic ally in the development of communities, contributing to the education and well-being of new generations.

The company will continue to promote projects that enhance school infrastructure and strengthen education in the region, thus promoting a future with more opportunities for children and young people.
