*Closing ceremony and presentation of certificates for the “Alfabetízate con Drummond” (Become literate with Drummond) project in the municipality of Bosconia, Cesar.

As part of its commitment to promote social development and improve the quality of life of the communities in its area of influence, Drummond Ltd., in partnership with Comfacesar, celebrated the closing of the sixth phase of “Alfabetízate con Drummond.” This project, which began in 2019, has managed to teach 3,700 Cesar residents to read, write, and have basic mathematical skills.

“At Drummond, we recognize the importance of education. Projects like this not only strengthen individual capacities but also generate positive impacts on families and communities. We will continue to be committed to the growth and well-being of our area of influence,” said Amalí Blanco Bohórquez, CSR Project Coordinator at Drummond Ltd.

In this sixth phase, 500 participants from the municipalities of Bosconia, Chiriguaná, El Copey, El Paso, and La Jagua de Ibirico completed the pedagogical cycles designed to strengthen their reading, writing, and mathematics skills.

“Today we are closing this edition of the project in its sixth year, providing this benefit to these families, to whom we have helped strengthen their quality of life. We have already completed six years in which we have reached 3,700 people, mitigating illiteracy,” said Wilber Mejía Navarro, projects and agreements coordinator for the education department at Comfacesar.

This project has allowed participants to overcome personal and social barriers and become agents of change within their families and communities, demonstrating that education is the true engine of progress.

“Thanks to ‘Alfabetízate con Drummond’ in conjunction with Comfacesar, we learned to read, write, add, subtract, and multiply. We are very grateful for this program and hopefully, it can continue so that other people like us can learn too,” thanked Yaribel Vergara Bocanegra, a participant in the project.

On the other hand, Ana Almanza Nieves declared: “Thanks to the program, I learned many things. I could hardly read, and here I learned. I didn’t know how to multiply, and here I learned. All this will allow me to give my daughter a great future.”

With this sixth phase, Drummond Ltd. and Comfacesar celebrate the positive impact of this project in Cesar, reaffirming their commitment to continue leading initiatives that promote educational inclusion and sustainable development in the mining corridor.
