Drummond Ltd. received the recertification of the international standard for commercial aircraft operations, in its Stage 3 (IS-BAO), which recognizes the highest standards of safety and quality in its air operations.

This prestigious certificate, issued by the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC), encompasses the best practices applicable to corporate aviation, validating compliance with rigorous operational criteria.

The IS-BAO certification consists of three stages. Stage 1 represents the basic level. Stage 2 is intermediate, and Stage 3, the most advanced and obtained by the mining company, validates maturity in terms of safety, as well as strict operational discipline in the execution of procedures and aircraft maintenance.

To obtain it, Drummond’s Aviation Department demonstrated the standardization of all its processes, as well as a mature and constantly improving Operational Safety Management System. Additionally, the company trained all its staff, with the aim of reinforcing a comprehensive approach to safety and quality in air operations.

“This achievement is the result of strategic investments and the continuous effort made by Drummond’s management, led by the Financial and Administrative Vice Presidency, Debra Peel, who has prioritized improving safety levels in all its air operations,” said Juan Carlos Poveda, aviation manager for Drummond Ltd.

Reaffirming its commitment to safety and quality in its air operations, Drummond will keep on working for the continuous improvement of its processes.

“Looking ahead, the Aviation Department will face the challenge of maintaining and improving its processes and safety levels. Each audit will be more demanding than the previous one, which will allow for the consolidation of a robust system and an increasingly high security awareness, not only among the Department’s staff but also among the passengers,” concluded Luis David Martínez, aviation planning coordinator at Drummond and one of the leaders of the certification process obtained.
