Ratifying its commitment to guarantee and promote the respect for human rights, Drummond Ltd. held the 6th Dialogue on this topic with the participation of leaders of the Associations of Community Action Boards (Asojuntas) of the municipalities in the area of influence of its mining operations in Cesar.
As part of its corporate social responsibility strategy, Drummond includes the Peace and Human Rights pillar, which highlights the company’s commitment to adhere to the highest standards in compliance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
“During the 6th Human Rights Dialogue, we received feedback from the participants, who with their contributions are helping us to perform better in implementing our Human Rights policy and having a positive impact on our environment,” commented Pablo Urrutia, vice president of public affairs and communications at Drummond Ltd.
The event was held at the Pribbenow mine and was attended by 29 community leaders from the Cesar municipalities of Agustín Codazzi, Becerril, Chiriguaná, La Jagua de Ibirico and El Paso.
José Rafael Unda, external human rights consultant for Drummond, delved into concepts such as company policy and management, sources of risk and risk management measures, international standards that the company has adopted, such as the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights, among others.
