La Loma, August 15, 2024

With the objective of socializing the processes within its operations and contributing to safe mining and the country’s sustainable development, Drummond Ltd. received Industrial Safety, Quality, and Environmental instructors from the National Learning Service (SENA), Valledupar and La Jagua de Ibirico sections, at the Pribbenow mine facilities.

“On this occasion, the instructors’ visit was aimed at aligning concepts and allowing them to get to know the company better. This is crucial to adapt the training programs they carry out to our specific needs. Given that we are one of the main consumers of SENA services in the region, it is essential that these programs meet our requirements,” commented Johnny Guerrero, industrial safety manager at Drummond Ltd.

During the visit, topics such as occupational risk prevention, proper use of personal protection equipment (PPE) and emergency response were discussed.

“My experience on this visit has been excellent. I think that Drummond’s security aspects are very well organized and planned. It is clear that the first priority for this company is the well-being of employees, and for this reason the company makes a great effort in training and coaching to recognize and manage risk”, commented Katiuskhan Mendoza, occupational health and safety instructor for SENA, La Jagua de Ibirico section.

The visitors, who toured the company’s operational and environmental areas, learned about the safety protocols currently in place.

“Through this visit we can enrich ourselves with the experiences that Drummond has in the area of occupational safety and health; about which are the procedures and tools that are used; which ones have been used before and have not been favorable, and which ones are currently in place. The objective is to take these experiences and for our apprentices who are going to work in the mining activity to receive this training”, said Lilibeth Martinez, instructor of occupational health and safety at SENA, Valledupar branch.

With this type of visit, Drummond ratifies its commitment to education and training in the region.
