Drummond Ltd. provided training to representatives of the Community Associations of the municipalities in its railroad corridor: Bosconia, El Copey (Cesar), and Algarrobo (Magdalena). This ratifies its commitment to contribute to the integral development of the communities in its area of influence.

“This workshop is part of the project to strengthen community action organizations, operated by the Sergio Arboleda University, which aims to generate a space for knowledge among members of the community action boards and delegates of the local administrations of the railroad corridor,” said Ever Carrillo Navarro, corporate social responsibility coordinator for Drummond Ltd.

The training session was held in the city of Valledupar, where participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences and enhance their skills through leadership and communication training.

“I think these meetings are very important, because they definitely empower those who hold the quality of leaders, and of course, this results in the benefit and progress of their municipalities,” said Jos茅 Penso Arcieri, lecturer at the Sergio Arboleda University.

The community leaders received an office kit for administrative strengthening, which is necessary for the development of the work of the community organizations in their territories.

Jairo L贸pez Acosta, president of Asocomunal in Bosconia, Cesar, commented that: “these trainings are very important because they allow us to strengthen our knowledge and the commitment is to replicate what we have learned with our communities.”

During the transfer of knowledge, participants received training in communication and leadership skills. In addition, they made a diagnosis of the current state of their communities and proposed initiatives for managing solutions.

“I found these workshops excellent, as we have acquired important knowledge to pass on to our communities and contribute to the development of the territories,” added Armando Arciniegas Rojano, Asocomunal leader of the municipality of Algarrobo, Magdalena.

In this way, Drummond Ltd. continues to demonstrate its commitment to local capacity building, fostering leadership and self-management in its communities in the area of influence.
