As part of its stakeholder engagement strategy, Drummond Ltd. welcomed a group of management-level employees of gold mining company Mineros S.A. Colombia, who learned about the company’s processes through a tour of the Pribbenow mine, located in the department of Cesar.
“We welcomed Mineros S.A. to our operations to show them how we do environmentally sustainable mining and why we are a reference for world-class mining,” said Fray Orozco Morgan, senior biodiversity supervisor at Drummond Ltd.
During their visit, through a tour of operational and environmental areas, they were able to see the company’s work and how it contributes to the country’s development and that of the communities in its area of influence.
“We had the opportunity to learn in detail about Drummond’s processes from its operational stage to its environmental remediation phase. I was particularly impressed by the Paujil Dam process, where the company’s hard work on environmental compensation issues is evident,” commented Sebastián Balbin, head of technical services for Mineros S.A. Colombia.
The visit included a socialization day, in which leaders from different areas of the company shared information about the processes they carry out, in addition to the closure plan they are executing.
For Drummond Ltd. it is important to create spaces that facilitate the exchange of experiences and knowledge with its stakeholders, in order to continue growing and strengthening “mining with a positive impact”.
