As a sign of its commitment to social and educational development in its area of influence, Drummond Ltd., in collaboration with the Valledupar Journalists’ Circle (CPV), will award a new scholarship to a journalist from the department of Cesar. In 2024, the call for journalists who are native or residents of Cesar will be officially opened so that they can register.
hose interested in participating will have from next Monday, March 18 through Friday, April 19, 2024 to submit the required data, along with the application form in a sealed envelope directly to Drummond’s offices in Valledupar (Calle 12 No. 8 – 42, Office 303 and 304, Orbe Plaza Building), labelled with the Communications Grant Drummond Ltd. The following are the requirements to participate in this call for applications, which are set forth in the Terms of Reference of the Scholarship Program:
- Be a native of Cesar or prove that you have lived for more than 10 years in this department.
- Hold an undergraduate degree in Social Communication from an institution accredited by the Ministry of Education.
- Be linked to a media outlet or working as a journalist or communicator and prove experience of at least five (5) years.
- Send the resume and a letter of motivation (maximum two pages) indicating experience, personal interests, and the desire to further academic training. Also, attach two academic and/or professional letters of reference.
- Send copies (audio, video, or print) of four pieces of journalistic work produced and published in a period of less than one year.
- It should be noted that if any of the participants submit incomplete documents and journalistic works requested and do not comply with all the requirements mentioned above, they will be excluded from participating in the process.
Once the call for proposals is closed, the proposals will be evaluated and selected. An interview will also be conducted for those applicants who have advanced to the last stage of the selection process.
Finally, applicants will be informed of the timing of the different stages of the process and the name of the scholarship winner will be announced through a press release.
Among the winners of previous versions, and who have already received their scholarships, are Carlos Jim茅nez Saucedo, Humberto Carrillo Mindiola, Arnold Murillo Rinc贸n, Aquiles Hern谩ndez Saurith, and Daniela C谩rdenas Seoanes. Wendy Peralta Cano and Miguel Alguero Monta帽o, winners of the last two application processes, are currently pursuing their specialization studies.
