In order to contribute to the strengthening of local capacities, Drummond Ltd., in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Agustin Codazzi, Cesar, delivered office furniture for the Citizen Coexistence Center located in the town of Casacará.
“We will continue to contribute to the construction of a healthy and peaceful coexistence, with fair, responsible societies that promote respect for human rights. We agreed with the municipal administration 2 years ago to deliver the equipment when it was built.
Today we are fulfilling this commitment to Casacará,” said Yilda Tatiana Pineda, senior community relations supervisor for Drummond Ltd.
The equipment delivered to the community consists of air conditioners, chairs, desks, tables, shelves, filing cabinets, white boards, trash cans, a television, a water dispenser, and other resources necessary for the office’s administrative operation, for a total investment of more than 65 million pesos.
“This project was finished two years ago, but we had committed to provide security so that Drummond could donate the equipment, and that is what we are doing today. We thank Drummond and we tell the community that this project and its equipment are here so that they can carry out their administrative duties and provide effective, efficient and pleasant service to everyone in the township,” said Omar Benjumea, Mayor of Agustin Codazzi.
This project, which is part of Drummond’s Institutional and Community Strengthening program, seeks to strengthen local capacities and contribute to healthy coexistence through its Governance for Development pillar.
“I thank Drummond for this gift, [which will make] a lasting impression. They have always made it clear to us that they are interested in the communities, they are committed to their communities to continue contributing their part,” said Adelmo Rodriguez Pino, president of the Community Action Board for the Centro neighborhood in the town of Casacará.
Through these actions, Drummond confirms its commitment to promoting and fostering civic values in the communities in its area of influence.
