Within the framework of its ‘Sustainability Week’, Drummond Ltd. led a day of corporate volunteering to improve and embellish the infrastructure of the La Guajirita Educational Center, located in La Guajirita, a district of the municipality of Becerril, in Cesar.
The activity, in which filling works, painting of the facade, interiors and patio, planting of trees, and general cleaning were carried out, included the involvement of Drummond employees and members of the La Guajirita community.
“Within the framework of ‘Sustainability Week’, we developed a corporate volunteer day in which a group of company employees, in coordination with the community of the town of La Guajirita, provided a space to embellish the educational center of the area with general cleaning, painting and tree planting activities. These initiatives allow us to continue strengthening ties of trust with the communities in our area of influence,” commented William Espinosa, corporate social responsibility supervisor at Drummond *Employees and inhabitants of La Guajirita as participants in the volunteer activity Ltd.
The talent, time, and good energy of the employees and the community of La Guajirita were the tools that helped adapt the educational center’s facilities, all of this in order to provide children with quality education in more optimal and harmonious spaces.

“I think the activity that Drummond has had is very good. We really needed this here at school, since it was a bit neglected. Thank you to the company for its help,” said Ledis Ríos, teacher at the educational center.
The good attitude of the employees and the community allowed this day to develop in the best way, achieving the expected results: that students and teachers shared the joy of seeing their improved facilities.
“I want to thank Drummond for this beautiful activity they brought to our educational center. Thanks to them we had the opportunity to beautify our school. Now we have cleaner classrooms without cracks, this means that we receive our classes in the best way,” said Luisa Ávila, a student at the educational center.
With these initiatives, the company ratifies its social and sustainable commitment to its areas of influence, providing adequate spaces that allow it to strengthen education in its communities.
