Valledupar, February 7, 2023
With the goal of making continued contributions to the cultural sector, Drummond Ltd. donated musical instruments to the Loperena National School in Valledupar.
The donated instruments included a flute, piccolo, soprano clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, trumpets, tenor trombones, professional euphonium, snare drum, symphonic bass drum and its base, and crash cymbals.
“This donation from Drummond gives great satisfaction to our school community. The parents and teachers are very grateful, because initiatives like this one encourage us to expand the comprehensive breadth of the school’s education. Education and music transform lives. Each student who plays an instrument is a person in development,” said Gonzalo Quiroz, Dean of the Loperena National School.
This type of donation is a pillar of the mining company’s Community Relations and social investment line under its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, working, in this specific case, through the ‘Strengthening Music Schools’ project.
“We invest in our communities by strengthening the education and training provided by music schools. With this donation, we contribute to the social development of children and young people, preserving the traditions and culture of our communities,” said Alfredo Araujo Castro, Vice President of Community Relations and Government.
Drummond will continue to express its commitment to social development through projects that foster culture in the region.
