The publication talks about the importance of social and environmental responsibility for each of the company´s processes, among other actions from diverse areas, to show why the company continues to be the country´s principal coal producer and one of the most outstanding ones for its social work in the communities of Cesar and Magdalena.
In his editorial, José Miguel Linares, the president of Drummond Ltd Colombia, introduces the edition by highlighting the role of mining in the processes of energy transition and fair transition, in addition to the importance of developing renewable energy where he mentions the new solar energy project led by Drummond Energy.
Followed by a dynamic visualization and video, graphic and audio tools, in issue 14 the magazine presents as its principal content the programs that the company leads as part of its environmental strategy and its vision of a sustainable future, a segment in which it highlights having achieved 80% reuse of the total waste generated at the mine and port operations.
In the main article, one of the exemplary projects led by the company is the creation of its waste tire processing and reuse plant, which creates direct and indirect employment, as it is also shown. It is operated inside the facilities of Drummond by the company Duramos S.A.S., and at the present time is the only project in the country that completely disposes of its all-terrain tires.
Also, the latest issue of the magazine highlights the Drummond brand inside the company, constantly associated with the concept of “Mining with a Positive Impact”, by way of one of the basic tools, the Corporate Image Manual, which contains practical information for reaching all workers, while they identify with a trustworthy image, a symbol of the transparent and responsible operation where they work.
Among other topics, the edition presents the innovative leaders who incorporate new technologies in their work, from the creation of software for optimizing the meal services for the workers to strategies that seek to strengthen the wellbeing and safety of the employees, such as the integral CASF strategy, in which work is done with operators and their families, emphasizing that safety starts at home.
