As part of its commitment to community development, Drummond Ltd. delivered an organic waste shredder to the company Agrorganico Semillas in the Salsipuedes district of La Jagua de Ibirico, Cesar.
The donated equipment will improve the productivity and development of this local supplier, which produces organic fertilizer and has a nursery providing plants for forage and forest and native tree species.
“Drummond promotes the development of local suppliers, involving them in our supply chain. This helps them improve their productivity and make their processes more efficient,” stated Yilda Tatiana Pineda, Community Relations Coordinator.”
Drummond Ltd. has had an agreement with Agrorganico Semillas for over a year now, donating organic waste to help the company improve the quality of its product. Now, the donation of this machinery will make it possible to transform 3 tons of organic material each day, in direct benefit to 12 workers at the company.
“I’m grateful to Drummond because they have helped me grow as a company and as a person. Not only are they delivering waste products that help me increase the quantity of organic material I can produce, but they are also helping with the machinery. This makes our employees’ work safer and more comfortable,” added Juan Carlos Ortiz, the manager at Agrorganico Semillas.
This initiative falls under the Comprehensive Development pillar of Drummond’s corporate social responsibility policy, which promotes sustainable projects that will improve quality of life in the communities in the area of influence.
