During December, Drummond Ltd. employees gave out gifts in various municipalities of Cesar and Magdalena

Drummond workers give out more than 1,000 gifts.

Through the ‘Give a gift, Bring Joy to a Heart, and Receive a Smile’ campaign, Drummond Ltd. employees took more than 1,000 gifts to children in municipalities in Cesar and Magdalena.

The annual campaign organized by Drummond employees invites all workers to make voluntary donations to be used to purchase gifts. In 2020, in the Department of Cesar, the program benefited the villages of Ojo de Agua, Agua Fria and the district of La Aurora, in the municipality of Chiriguana; the village of El Centro, Tamaquito, Canaima, Remolino and the district of La Guajirita in the municipality of Becerril; the district of La Loma in the municipality of El Paso, and the municipality of Cienaga in the Department of Magdalena

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year in Cesar the gifts were given out door to door,
meeting biosafety protocols.

“It was just so satisfying to see the children’s smiles and happiness. It’s really special to know that our work at Drummond gives us an opportunity to share our benefits with the littlest ones in the municipalities in the area of influence,” said Yilda Pineda, Drummond’s Community Relations Coordinator in Cesar, who went along to deliver gifts.

Deliveries in Cesar

Prior to the deliveries in Cesar, we did a census of the children in the area, including their ages, so we could give them the right kind of gift. Members of local community action boards supported this process.

“What’s really cool about this activity is how happy it makes the kids. This time, because of the pandemic, we did it differently. But the important thing is that each one of them received a Christmas gift. I’m really grateful to Drummond for always looking out for the community,” said Sebastian Laguna, President of the Community Action Board in La Guajirita, Becerril.

The parents of the children who benefited from the donations also expressed their gratitude to Drummond employees for their work.

“It isn’t easy for many of us parents to give a gift to our children. That’s why we’re really grateful for this great initiative by Drummond employees,” said one of the mothers, Marlenis Orozco.

This Christmas, with the COVID-19 pandemic, the gifts were distributed door-to-door as a way to continue bringing Christmas joy to hundreds of children in the areas of influence of Drummond Ltd.

Deliveries in Magdalena

Santa Claus accompanies the deliveries in Cienaga, bringing joy to the hearts of dozens of children.

In December 2020, the workers at Puerto Drummond gave gifts to vulnerable children in different neighborhoods of Cienaga. They were supported by the Police Brigade for Children and Teens and the Nutrir Foundation (part of the ICBF), who provided all the logistics for the census.

The delivery was made under strict biosafety protocols, attending to groups of 10 children every 15 minutes, thus avoiding crowding and demonstrating the employees’ commitment to preventing the spread of COVID-19. Drummond supported the event by donating transportation and snacks.
