At the first meeting of the new ACM Board of Directors for the period 2017-2019, Drummond Ltd. president Jose Miguel Linares was elected as the new Chairman of the Board, and as Assistant Chairman the members elected Felipe Márquez Robledo, president of Anglogold Ashanti.
It should be noted that Linares ended his term a few weeks ago as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Council of American Companies (CEA).
The main challenges of José Miguel Linares as head of the ACM’s Board of Directors include the work to be carried out with the Executive President of the Association, Santiago Angel Urdinola, on issues related to the development and competitiveness of the sector such as legal stability, the regulation of the tax reform and the struggle against illegal mining.
