Drummond Ltd. reports that in the early hours of this morning there was a derailment of one of its trains, which was returning from the port in Ciénaga (Magdalena) to the company´s coal mines in the department of Cesar. The train, with its habitual three locomotive and 120 wagon configuration, was empty after unloading its coal cargo at Port Drummond.
The derailment occurred near the stations of Sevilla and Iberia, in the department of Magdalena. One person from the community fell off his bicycle when he heard the noise, and he suffered minor injuries. He was later taken by ambulance to the Saludcoop Clinic in Santa Marta where he was treated.
The accident is being investigated to determine the causes. The railway system´s operations are expected to be back to normal this evening.
