Drummond, together with other entities, carried out last Saturday, July 26, a health campaign for the well-being of the vulnerable population of the municipality of Fundación, principally the area of Altamira and Faustino Mojica, thus supporting the health care of approximately 800 people, children and adults.
The event was held at the Fundación Departmental Educational Institution, a school that opened its doors from 7:00 a.m. to receive the community that throughout the day was served in the classrooms set up for general medicine, dentistry, pediatrics, pharmacy, hairstyling, hygiene and recreation services.
The event was possible thanks to the support of entities that worked in an articulated manner, such as the municipal mayor’s office, the 1st Division of the Colombian National Army and its 2nd Brigade, Drummond Ltd, the Fundación Amigos del Carbón, Expreso Brasilia, Fundepalma, the University of Magdalena, Funaco, the E.S.E. Centro de Salud Paz del Río, the Clínica Sonríe and Corpo Artes, among other companies that together provided the personnel to serve and support all of the organization of the campaign. During the activity, representatives of each organization stated that the campaign was held for the well-being of the community, and especially to provide accompanying of the families who have suffered since the accident to Fundación children that occurred last May 18.
The community in general showed that it was pleased with the event, at which they received, free of cost, medicine according to their diagnoses, groceries, clothing, toys, hygiene kits and school supply kits. The youngest likewise enjoyed spaces for play. “I thank the companies that have shown concern for us. It was very good help for all of us, especially the children. We have needed this for some time in Fundación,” said María Fernanda de Arcos, an inhabitant of the municipality.
Once again Drummond showed its social commitment through activities and programs that strengthen development in its areas of influence, reaching out to the communities and fostering well-being and health in them.
