Drummond Ltd. reaffirmed its commitment to the village of La Aurora, in the municipality of Chiriguaná, by participating in the Tobago Cane and African Palm festival held in this community, which is located in the area of influence of the Caporo hydrocarbon development project.
Through the Hydrocarbon and Mineral Exploration Division, social analyst Noreida Solano donated tools for the palm workers in the area, strengthening their work and their production units.
Since December 2015, Drummond Ltd. has had a license to extract coalbed methane gas from the Caporo Norte development area, which includes La Jagua de Ibirico and Chiriguaná, municipalities where the Company provides benefits to residents through its social programs, using them to strengthen the relationship between the company and the community through respectful speech and ongoing dialogue, creating opportunities for participation and communication in the areas where it conducts its operations.
On this day, Drummond participated with the donation of items such as: long work gloves made of 100% leather, machetes with sheaths or covers, fans and cargo bikes, which were given to some of the attendees who participated in the Tobago Cane and African Palm festival.

Meanwhile, Pablo Herazo (resident of the community of La Aurora), who received a cargo bike, said: “I would like to thank Drummond Ltd.’s Hydrocarbon Division for its commitment and social responsibility with the communities in the area of influence of its projects, and I hope that in the coming years the company will continue to grow stronger in the region.”
