La Loma, August 28 of 2026

As part of its commitment to sustainable development and the well-being of communities
near its operations, Drummond Ltd. delivered 26 efficient stoves for rural homes to
vulnerable families in Agustín Codazzi and Becerril, Cesar, within the framework of the
2026 Social Investment Plan (PIS).
The initiative was carried out in the rural communities of Begoña and KM28, in Agustín
Codazzi, and Las Cojas, Tamaquito, Remolino, Canaima, Azufral, El Hatillo, and the
township of La Guajirita, in Becerril—communities near the El Descanso mining project.

“ With this project, we aim to contribute to the well-being of families in our area of influence by promoting the efficient and sustainable use of firewood for cooking. In addition to installing the stoves, we support families with awareness and training sessions to strengthen good cooking practices and contribute to environmental protection,” commented Ever Carrillo Navarro, coordinator of social and environmental projects for corporate social responsibility at Drummond Ltd.
Besides installing the stoves, the project includes identifying and prioritizing participants, providing training and awareness-raising activities, as well as monitoring and evaluation activities to support the implementation of this solution in homes.
The beneficiaries were selected according to prioritization criteria that consider
vulnerability factors such as unmitigable overcrowding, cohabitation, the presence of
children under five or elderly adults, belonging to an ethnic group, and households with
members recognized as victims of violence.
Luis Fernando Oñate García, president of the El Hatillo community in Becerril, expressed
his gratitude for the project: “I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the benefits you have given us. Thank you for considering our community; I am a beneficiary
of the eco-friendly stoves. Thank you for improving the conditions for some families who
had to cook on stones, and thank you for improving the quality of life for the farmers”. .

In this way, Drummond continues to promote initiatives that link the well-being of
communities with environmental stewardship and contribute to generating positive and
sustainable impacts in its area of influence.
