Reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and the development of responsible mining, Drummond Ltd. held outreach sessions on the results of its Environmental Management Plan (EMP) for the year 2025, aimed at fishing communities, academic and business sectors, local authorities and media outlets in its port corridor.

During the meetings, relevant results were highlighted in the implementation of measures aimed at the protection and conservation of ecosystems, as well as in the monitoring of physical and biotic components. Among the most notable actions are particulate matter controls, optimization of the efficient use of water resources, strengthening of emissions control systems, and initiatives for the preservation of fauna and flora.

Similarly, the social programs that the company develops in its area of influence were shared, which contribute to the well-being of the communities and the sustainable development of the territory.

“Having knowledge of this environmental plan generates a positive impact with the actions that Drummond generates in our District,” said Ingrid Gómez Ceballos, acting mayor of Santa Marta.

The sessions became established as spaces for open, respectful, and constructive dialogue, where attendees had the opportunity to interact directly with the technical team, resolve concerns, and learn firsthand about the environmental, social, and human talent management processes that the organization is carrying out.

“It is very important to understand this management plan because it expands our knowledge and demonstrates the good operation carried out by the company,” said Erika Parada Herrera, second marine of the Santa Marta coast guard station.

“Besides being a space for information, it is a space for participation and conversation with social actors. “In these meetings, we share the characteristics of the operation we conduct at Drummond Port and how we work towards environmentally sustainable mining,” said John Encinales Ospina, environmental project engineer.

With these meetings, Drummond Ltd. reaffirms its commitment to maintaining transparent and ongoing communication with communities, strengthening relationships based on trust and ensuring compliance with established commitments.
