Liliana Vanegas Romero, new beneficiary of the Communications Scholarship that encourages journalistic talent in Cesar

Drummond Ltd. and the Journalists Circle of Valledupar (CPV) announce that journalist Liliana Vanegas Romero was selected as the winner of the ninth edition of the Communications Scholarship, after standing out for her trajectory, dedication and the quality of her professional work.

The program is aimed at journalists from the department of Cesar, and it promotes the academic formation of the profession. The evaluation process was conducted by a jury made up of Fernando Herrera Araújo, director of CESORE, as representative of civil society; Rafael Escalona Bolaños, president of CPV; and Pablo Urrutia, vice president of Public Affairs and Communications of Drummond Ltd.

Also participating in the final stage were journalists Karelis Rodríguez González and Carmen Lucía Mendoza Cuello, who, together with Liliana Vanegas, demonstrated their commitment to strengthening regional communication. Finally, Vanegas Romero obtained the highest qualification, thus gaining access to the benefit that will allow her to pursue a specialization in the area of communications.

Upon learning the result, Liliana expressed her gratitude: “What a thrill, thank God for this, to be the winner of this scholarship is a great achievement; I am immensely grateful, happy and excited about this news. An early birthday present. Thank you, thank you infinitely.”

Applicants for the scholarship had to prove their residence in Cesar for more than ten years or be natives of the department, currently practice the profession or be linked to a media outlet, have a minimum of five years of experience and achieve a score higher than 4.5 out of 5 in their work submitted.

With this new edition, nine journalists have benefited from the Communications Scholarship, among them Carlos Jiménez Saucedo, Humberto Carrillo Mindiola, Arnold Murillo Rincón, Aquiles Hernández Saurith, Daniela Cárdenas Seoanes, Wendy Peralta Cano, Miguel Alguero Montaño and Ludy Ovalle Jácome, who have strengthened their professional profile thanks to this alliance.

Through this initiative, Drummond Ltd. reaffirms its commitment to the development of regional journalism, promoting continuing education and professional growth of those who report responsibly and ethically in the department of Cesar.
